Can Hillary Escape the Chevy Chase Curse?

It was a popular legend back in 1976 that Chevy Chase’s relentless mocking of Gerald Ford on Saturday Night Live helped cost him the election against Jimmy Carter. I doubt this is true; more likely a typical Hollywood/pop culture self-flattery along the lines of “Woodstock ended the Vietnam War” or something. But there’s no doubting that Hillary Clinton continues to be the favorite punching bag of SNL right now. And where Larry David’s portrayals of Bernie Sanders make Bernie look lovable and authentic if very goofy, Kate MacKinnon’s Hillary is dead on about her lack of honesty. About four minutes long:
