A mistake anyone might make

This morning, a MSNBC news anchor, reporting on Bill Cosby’s court appearance regarding allegations of rape, referred to Cosby as “Bill Clinton.” It was a slip of the tongue, but not a random one. Rather it was a Freudian slip, one that suggests the image of Bill Clinton as sexual predator may be embedded in the national consciousness.

Freud is reputed to have said that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. But often it isn’t.
