Deep thoughts with Loretta Lynch

We do not ascribe anything President Obama says to stupidity. Ignorance, occasionally. His ignorance of history is easily demonstrable, and it runs wide and deep.

However, I wonder about Attorney General Loretta Lynch (as I wondered about her predecessor, Eric Holder). The Orlando massacre has put her public musings front and center and they do not flatter her. In Orlando on Tuesday she said: “To the LGBT community — we stand with you.” Okay so far, but then she had to add this deep thought derived from the COEXIST bumper sticker: “The good in this world far outweighs the evil. Our common humanity transcends our differences, and our most effective response to terror is compassion, it’s unity and it’s love.”

Clown city.

And that’s not all!

At NR, Jim Geraghty featured quotable quotes from Lynch in his mid-week Morning Jolt Jim quoted Lynch’s professed mystification over the motives of Orlando jihadist Omar Mateen: “I cannot tell you definitively that we will ever narrow it down to one motivation. People often act out of more than one motivation. This was clearly an act of terror and an act of hate. So we will look at all motivations, and hopefully come to a conclusion there.”

Lynch apparently had time to catch up with the unredacted version of the 911 call transcript released by the Department of Justice. She’s still going on the redacted transcript.

And that’s not all!

Lynch was equally clueless about the whereabout of Mrs. Mateen: “Has the shooter’s wife left the state of Florida?” a reporter asked Lynch during her press conference Tuesday. “Right now, I don’t know exactly the answer to that,” Lynch candidly replied. ”I believe she was going to travel but I do not know exactly her location now.”

Jim has some other nuggets in his report. They read like parody but reality has outstripped satire.
