The Meltdown Notes, part deux

The candidates campaigning for the chairmanship of the Democratic National Committee recently made their pitches at two forums on campus at George Washington University in Washington. Their pitches deserve a place among “The Meltdown Notes” to be included in Steve Hayward’s new Power Line series.

Hosted by Democracy in Color in MiTu at GW this past Monday, the second of the two forums was moderated by MSNBC’s very own Joy Reid. Both events included Power Line readers’ favorite Rep. Keith Ellison, former Labor Secretary Tom Perez, Democratic strategist Jehmu Greene, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley, and South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Jaime Harrison. C-SPAN has posted a video of the entire three-and-a-half-hour affair at GW this past Monday here.

If you feel the need to shed brain cells, you won’t want to miss the whole thing recorded by C-SPAN. Even if you don’t feel the need, the C-SPAN video link includes a useful listing of the cast of characters who appeared at the forum.

David Rutz has compiled a supercuts video (below) featuring the candidates in their “most SJW moments” at the forum. In Rutz’s highlights reel the candidates discuss “intersectionality, diversity, multiplicity, failing up, and white people needing to shut their traps.”

“Slam poet” Raul Herrera (the guy with his hair pulled back into a bun) is not one of the candidates for the DNC chairmanship. His performance at the forum was strictly for inspirational purposes.

Quotable quote (Keith Ellison): “There’s no Republicans in [Minnesota’s] Fifth Congressional District [represented by Ellison] at all. We have chased them all out.”
