Do We Get Invited to the Mansion?
Actually, I don't think the mansion is operating anymore. There was a time, circa 1966, when having my name in Playboy Magazine would have seemed like a big deal. We achieved that pinnacle, of sorts, this month when Playboy named us one of the Ten Best Political Blogs. Like so many things in life, the honor comes too late to be of much interest. Playboy's top ten includes several sites I've never heard of, some that are awful, and only one (other than our own) that I actually read: Captain's Quarters.
Captain Ed and I had an email exchange about this tonight. He suggested that Playboy may only read our sites for the pictures. It occurred to me that in our case, with our coverage of the Miss Universe and Miss World pageants, that could possibly be true.
Anyway, if the younger honorees do go to the mansion, or wherever Hef is hanging out these days, they can tell him hello from us. I'm going to bed.
