The biggest problem we're hearing about so far today is in Pennsylvania, where "massive problems" are being reported with voting machines in 37 counties. The Santorum campaign says that in some instances, votes for a candidate are being recorded for another candidate. I don't understand, however, how this would be visible to the voter. A poster at the Election 2006 site on the Power Line Forum recounts his experience in central Pennsylvania: I showed up at my polling location at 7:05 this morning. There was already a line and it didn’t seem to be moving. Well, I hope the Dems lose. By the way, we apologize for the trouble many readers have had in accessing the news site today, and, in some instances, this site as well. Apparently the problem is simply due to heavy traffic. Our hosting service had assured us that our server would be able to handle the traffic for both Power Line and Power Line News. Apparently not, at least not today. The problem won't be fully fixed, I'm afraid, until tomorrow. But if you try a few times, you should be able to get into the Forum. UPDATE: An Election 2006 poster has more: I can confirm from the ground that Lebanon County was a mess earlier. The Board of Elections extended voting to 9 p.m. Posted by at 2:25 PM
