April 8, 2007
Our friends at the Claremont Institute are taking applications for their Lincoln Fellowship program. The program is a crash course in political thought and how to apply principles to public policy questions of the day. In this respect it is is like the Institute's Publius Fellowship program, but tailored to those who are a bit older and more accomplished, and, specifically, who are in some way involved with public policy issues. This past year’s fellows included several congressional staff, two from the White House, three from executive agencies, three from think tanks, three writers, one from media, and one from the defense industry. Last year one or two of the fellows heard about the program here. Among last year's fellows whose names I recognize are Tom Joscelyn, Carol Platt Liebau, David Skinner and Josh Trevino. It's an impressive group. I'm late getting to this year's announcement. Please note that the deadline for applications is April 28. The 2007 program runs August 4-12, and will be held in beautiful Newport Beach, California. The program description and application can be downloaded here. Posted by at 7:27 PM
