Is America an experiment?
Wilfred McClay is professor of history and holder of the SunTrust Bank Chair of Excellence in the Humanities at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He recently addressed an audience at the Center of the American Experiment in Minneapolis on the question "Is America an experment?" (audio at the link). Professor McClay's lecture revisits a subject he addressed originally ten years ago in the late Public Interest magazine. It's an excellent lecture that covers a lot of territory with understanding and illumination.
