Victor Davis Hanson is a classicist and military historian. In writing about the current situation in which we find ourselves with respect to our enemies and the war we are in, he brings a lifetime of learning and reflection. Indeed, in helping us to understand the challenges we face, he seems to me to be the man of the hour. Earlier this week the Wall Street Journal published Hanson’s remarkable essay, “America Must Go It Alone.” The Journal’s online site has kindly made the essay available today.
