Echoes

Following up on Rocket Man’s post recalling the pro-Soviet “peace” marches of the 1980’s, both John O’Sullivan and Tod Lindberg have columns that elaborate on this weekend’s ugly spectacle: “Rumblings from the playground” (O’Sullivan) and “Then and now” (Lindberg). In the same context, Paul Greenberg does a nice job of recalling the 1930’s: “Return to the 1930’s.”
Those looking for a sliver of hope can take a look at the Wall Street Journal column by our new friend Josh Chafetz (co-authored with David Adesnik) whose headline invokes memories of the 1960’s: “Students for a democratic society.” (All courtesy of RealClearPolitics.)
