Moral Superiority on the Cheap

I was struck by this photo of Pam Anderson wearing three lettuce leaves (only two, alas, are visible in this particular picture):

But what really astonished me was the occasion for this photo shoot: The picture will be used as a poster in a new campaign by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, with the tag line: “Turn over a new leaf: Try vegetarian.”
This new campaign begins just as PETA’s latest effort, titled “The Holocaust on Your Plate,” has been met with a barrage of criticism. In this ad campaign, “photographs of Holocaust victims
