Moran gives up leadership post

The Washington Post reports that Jim Moran is stepping down from his House leadership position. Apparently, Nancy Pelosi asked him to do so due to his comments about Jewish war-mongering. However, Moran’s people are claiming that he offered to give up his post before being asked. Moran insists that he will fight to keep his seat in the next election. Several Northern Virginia Democrats are said to have their eyes on Moran’s seat, including Leslie Byrne, a fairly popular liberal who served in Congress years ago.
