Fear the turtle?

I took time out from watching war coverage to see my beloved University of Maryland Terrapins defend their NCAA basketball championship. They managed to win their first round game on a last second circus shot by Drew Nicholas. Off of this game, one wouldn’t expect the Terps to advance very far, but one never knows. Perhaps this stirring comeback will ignite what has lately been a moribund squad.
On the war front, for what it’s worth, my wife’s counsin in Israel reports that the Israeli government is cautiously optimistic that Iraq will not be able to attack Israel with missiles this time. One gets something of the same sense from such Jerusalem Post story titles as “Israel Government Low Key” and “Tel Aviv Residents Calm, Foreign Residents Wary.”
