Basra Besieged

Contrary to earlier reports, Basra has not yet fallen, but is still being besieged. The offensive has been slowed by Iraq’s placement of tanks and artillery deep inside residential areas. Again, the imperative of avoiding civilian casualties is retarding progress of the war, and increasing casualties among our own troops.
