First Engagements With Republican Guard Reported

Debka File reports that the U.S. Army’s first clashes with Republican Guard troops are now underway. Debka says four separate columns are traveling rapidly toward Baghdad; two of the four are now fighting Republican Guard units. The 3rd Armored Division, which yesterday opened up the bridges across the Euphrates in the war’s hardest fighting so far, is now engaging Iraq’s Al Medina Division, “the only Iraqi force known for certain by US intelligence to deploy weapons of mass destruction.”
