Assessing Noam Chomsky

The current issue of the New Criterion features a lead article on the political writing of Noam Chomsky. Chomsky must be one of the most demented men in American public life and his post-9/11 prominence is at the least troubling and at worst incomprehensible. I find his work revolting and therefore avoid anything but the most cursory familiarity with it. The article by Australian historian Keith Windschuttle performs a kind of service by reviewing Chomsky’s political writing, tracing its themes, and evaluating it: “The hypocrisy of Noam Chomsky.”
