The saga of Sami Al-Arian

The story of University of South Florida Professor Sami Al-Arian cannot be told frequently enough. Under indictment as the long-time United States head of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, intimately involved with the funding and direction of terrorist operations against Israel from his Tampa base, the story raises issues regarding immigration, intelligence, law enforcement, terrorism, and the defense of the United States itself against the enemy within. This morning FrontPage has posted a long piece that provides a good account of the story: “Embedded terrorist.”
