Hitchens on Blumenthal

Courtesy of Free Republic, here is Christopher Hitchens responding to the portions of Sidney Blumenthal’s book that pertain to him. Hitchens, of course, provided testimony during the investigation into the Lewinsky affair that landed Blumenthal in hot water. Blumenthal apparently devotes a chapter of his book to this episode, and Hitchens responds page-by-page. Even those who love to read Hitchens’ prose (include me in that group) will have a tough time working through all of the “inside baseball” he covers. I suggest reading the first few paragraphs and then, if you’re still in the mood, the last few. Hitchens will be reviewing the book (as opposed to defending his honor) in the July issue of the Atlantic Monthly.
