The Children’s Theater Company of Minneapolis

The Arts section of today’s New York Times has a good piece on the Children’s Theater Company of Minneapolis: “The birthplace of ‘Frog and Toad.'” The piece is by Dylan Hicks, a multitalented Minneapolis writer who has apparently moved on from working as a professional musician; his 2001 CD “Alive with Pleasure” was one of the highlights of that year’s local music scene.
The Children’s Theater Company has become an institution deserving of the kind of recognition afforded by the several Tony nominations “Frog and Toad” received as well as by this Times article. It has achieved a remarkable level of excellence over a substantial period of time with several productions a year, and has done so with plays that appeal both to children and adults.
Best of all for the Trunk family, the Times story is illustrated with a photograph of cousin Max (below on the left) performing in the CTC’s current production, “The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins.”
