The Supreme Court at the precipice

In his Newsweek column, George Will describes the stakes involved in the Supreme Court’s decision in the two University of Michigan cases pending before it. The cases have been decided and the Court’s decision will be issued in the next two weeks; the timing of Will’s column seems odd to me. He nevertheless sums up the issue involved about as precisely as it is possible to do, “the cardinal principle that people should be treated as ends in themselves, not as means to others
