Robert Mugabe, the tyrant of Zimbabwe, has been awarded a senior postion in the African Union. The Washington Times laments this development, noting that the move “tacitly condones his tyranical actions and could undermine foreign aid efforts in Africa.” The Times assigns most of the blame to South Africa, which exercises considerable clout when it comes to these matters.
