He who gets slapped

Clifford May has a nice piece in National Review Online about our latest attempt to enlist the cooperation of our one-time ally, France. May figures that President Bush agreed to let Colin Powell get slapped in the face in order to remind American voters that it isn’t Bush who is “being unreasonable and putting pride ahead of progress and all that.” Rather, “the lack of international cooperation is the fault of the European leaders
