Who Killed Anna Lindh?

A suspect has been arrested in the murder of Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh. While the authorities haven’t said much yet, it seems clear that he is the individual who was pictured in video footage taken inside the store where the murder took place. Here is the bar in a suburb of Stockholm where he was arrested while watching a soccer match on television:

He didn’t get far and didn’t seem to be on the run. The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, is said to be 35 years old. He has a long criminal history, including a charge of “illegally possessing a knife.” Just last year he was found not to be mentally ill, but to have a narcissistic personality. A surprisingly realistic diagnosis for such a progressive legal system.
While the Swedish government was quick to announce, immediately after Lindh’s murder, that they did not think there was a political motive, the suspect is now being reported to move in “Swedish right-wing extremist circles.” “He is close to some of the most notorious neo-Nazis in Sweden,” according to one report from Stockholm. It will come as a surprise to some, no doubt, that there are neo-Nazis in Sweden. That country’s rising crime rate and declining prosperity will perhaps come under the spotlight as a result of Lindh’s murder.
Islam Online didn’t wait for a suspect to be arrested to speculate that the murderer was….you guessed it….the U.S. government:
“Lindh defied Israeli Premier Ariel Sharon more than once and described him as a maniac. She declared on the official Swedish TV channel that she will boycott Israeli goods and fruits, sold in Swedish markets….Furthermore, Lindh described U.S. President George W. Bush as a fool due to his arrogance and the U.S. deterrence of Europe to follow the American example….It is worth noting that the Swedish former Premiere Olouf Balmeh, assassinated in February 1986, was also anti-U.S. policies. He demonstrated in front of the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm and talked scornfully about Richard Nixon in some of his notes. His killer is still unknown and at large. When the killer is ambiguous, this means he is very professional and cunning. Lindh
