Responding to the fabricrated hysteria regarding FBI raids on library records under the USA PATRIOT Act — a favorite post 9/11 ACLU fundraising tool — Attorney General Ashcroft made a startling revelation today. “Attorney General John Ashcroft said Wednesday that the FBI has not sought a single record from a library or business under a part of the Patriot Act widely criticized as opening Americans’ reading habits or personal information to undue government scrutiny.”
Do you suppose Ashcroft’s revelation might have any effect on the ACLU’s hysteria? I doubt it.
