Gray’s old lady

Even those of us with reservations about Governor Schwarzenegger can take pleasure in watching the Democratic establishment try to explain his victory as a symptom of national discontent that will redound to President Bush’s detriment in 2004. Hugh Hewitt, in his Daily Standard column shows why this spin is delusional and why Democrats who believe it do so at their peril.
Hugh’s WorldNetDaily column is a memo to the L.A. Times suggesting ways in which that paper might be able to shed its reputation “as a a tip sheet for the left wing of the Democrats, an extension of MoveOn.org, a Howard Dean caucus with camouflage that’s wearing pretty thin.” Hugh’s best line is this: “The New York Times may be the Old Gray Lady. The Internet has your number as Gray’s old lady.”
