Many people–at least, many who aren’t from Minnesota–still think of our ex-governor Jesse Ventura as a conservative. As we have noted once or twice, he is no such thing. Today’s Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Jesse recently received a letter from “Green Party officials” who were “inviting him to seek the party’s nomination.”
This report should perhaps be taken with a grain of salt, as the sources are Jesse himself, his lawyer and his spokesman, but I assume it has some basis in fact. To his credit, Jesse says he declined the invitation because he “doesn’t agree with some of the Green’s positions on issues.” But the fact that some influential Green Party representatives were willing to consider Ventura as a Presidential candidate indicates how far from being a conservative he is.
