Welcome to Yale, Dr. Pipes

According to Natasha Rivera-Silber in her Yale Daily News column, Daniel Pipes “has precipitated violence in the Middle East by disavowing diplomacy as a means to reaching peace.” Although he hides behind “empty rhetoric and hollow threats[!],” he must be a pretty powerful guy.
According to Little Trunk in her rejoinder, it was Dr. Pipes who noted prior to 9/11 that “war has been unilaterally declared on Europe and the United States.”
I’m not sure who has the better of it in this exchange, but I trust that Daniel Pipes will prevail when he speaks for himself this afternoon on campus. We’ll be back with the report later today.
