Democratic Senator John Breuax of Louisiana has announced that he will not seek re-election next year. He is the fifth southern Democrat who will quit the Senate. The others are Edwards of North Carolina, Hollings of Sourth Carolina, Miller of Georgia, and Graham of Florida.
