The paper of record strikes again

Michelle Malkin, for National Review Online, chronicles the latest Jayson Blair-type scandal at the New York Times. This one involves a minority reporter named Charlie LeDuff, apparently a friend of Blair and another protege of Howell Raines. LeDuff “borrowed” his reflections about kayaking down the Los Angeles River from someone else’s book about the same adventure. Malkin notes that LeDuff has trangressed before. It seems that he attributed fake quotes to a naval officer to fit his own anti-war agenda.
Malkin concludes by asking, “Wasn’t this all supposed to end with the fall of Raines? How many other victims of LeDuff’s ‘colorful writing’ are out there? And how many other Jayson Blairs remain nestled in the Gray Lady’s bosom?” Her answer — “stay tuned.”
