Walk, Don’t Run

This morning the New York Times published a letter from George McGovern. McGovern wrote to take issue with the conclusion of a recent column by Tom Friedman on Iraq: “We will not run.”
McGovern says:

This determination to stand and fight is tempting to political leaders. The trouble with this appeal is that brave young Americans do the bleeding and dying
