The news from Iraq…

is difficult to discern from the newspapers. We are partial to the civilian and military bloggers on the scene as the news source of choice, but haven’t paid much attention to the native Iraqi bloggers. Ryan Boots of the Soundfury blog provides an “Iraqi blogger roundup” with a variety of Iraqi perspectives on unfolding events.
Nothing I have read has packed a greater wallop than the email message sent by a Marine Corps rifle company commander awaiting orders to go into Fallujah. The message is to his father, a retired Marine. A reader of Charles Johnson’s great Little Green Footballs site forwarded the message with all names redacted:

Dad,
Things have been busy here. You know I can
