Fox News reports that the economy added 288,000 new jobs in April. This growth exceeded expectations and, combined with the March growth, represents the best two-month period in four years, according to the Labor Department. Payroll employment has risen by over one million jobs since last August. The unemployment rate also dipped in April by one-tenth of one percent. It is now 5.6 percent.
