The summer issue of the Claremont Review of Books has just been published, and several of the highlights have been posted. As has become the magazine’s custom, the summer issue offers a wealth of riches. I hope to comment on the pieces that address public policy issues after I have had a chance to read them carefully and think about them.
In the meantime, I commend to your attention without further discussion the review by Mackubin Thomas Owens of two new books on George Washington: “First in war.” One of the two books under review is David Hackett Fischer’s Washington’s Crossing, a book that Rocket Man has discussed previously on this site (here and here).
