Meet Charles Hill

Yale University boasts several great teachers. By my lights, the roster includes Professors David Gelernter and Donald Kagan, both well known outside the university. Relatively unknown outside the university, however, is another such indisputably great teacher, Professor Charles Hill.
David Brooks briefly introduces Professor Hill in his New York Times column today, and explores his impact on one of his students: “Learning to think, and live.” Peter Schramm has thoughtfully reflected on the column in his post “A note on education” over at No Left Turns.
UPDATE: Brooks’s column is also the occasion of characteristically thoughtful reflections by The Remedy‘s estimable Ken Masugi: “David Brooks on a truly liberal education.”
