Jimmy Carter: Still Selling Out America

Jimmy Carter gave an interview to the foreign press to promote his new Civil War novel, but he couldn’t resist talking about the upcoming election. The Scotsman reports; here are some Carter quotes:

If it comes out wrong [i.e., if President Bush is re-elected], I think we will see a continuation of what we have now. America believes military power should be exerted whenever it becomes interesting for our economic or political gains.

“Whenever it becomes interesting for our economic or political gains”? I’m not sure even Michael Moore has gone that far. Not a word about al Qaeda or Islamic terrorism; just “economic gains.” Unbelievable.
