Happy birthday Wayne

Going into today’s English Premier League football match against Manchester United, Arsenal had a 49-game unbeaten streak, the longest in English soccer history. But that streak itself is now history, as Man U defeated the Gunners 2-0. The difference was Wayne Rooney, formerly of my beloved Everton. Rooney won a penalty kick to set up United’s first goal and then scored the second himself. Today was the boy wonder’s 19th birthday. Cheers, Wayne.
Meanwhile, Everton defeated Norwich City yesterday 3-2. This means that we are only three points (one win) behind first-place Arsenal. And we remain five points ahead of Man U. Some would say, however, that the more relevant statistic is that we are 16 points clear of the relegation zone (bottom three).
