What’s good about winter

The winter issue of City Journal — the flagship publication of the Manhattan Institute — has been made available online. We have already posted a link to Heather Mac Donald’s timely essay on the interrogation of terrorists (click here) from the current issue. I hope to come back to other essays in the issue, but for the moment want to direct your attention to the great Victor Davis Hanson’s “Postmodern war” and to Theodore Dalrymple’s characteristically thought-provoking “The specters haunting Dresden.”
