In his Pittsburgh Post-Gazette column, Jack Kelly parses the AP story by Robert Burns on the Army’s latest recruiting shortfall: “Willing to serve.” Kelly’s column is an excellent companion piece to Rocket Man’s comment on the AP story by Jennifer Loven on President Bush’s radio address yesterday. Today Kelly succinctly observes: “The last time the Army missed a monthly recruiting goal — in May 2000 — it made it up by the end of the fiscal year. The glass always seems half-empty when you tell only half the story.” (Courtesy of RealClearPolitics.)
