Thanks to Lucianne for sending her readers over to check out Rocket Man’s reporting on “the GOP talking points memo” with the notation that “ABC picks up where CBS left off.”
The American Spectator’s Washington Prowler has picked up the scent and interviewed Republican Senate staffers: “Dirty Democrat pool.” The Prowler reports: “Republican leadership staffers now believe the document was generated out of the Democratic opposition research office set up recently by Sen. Harry Reid, and distributed to some Democratic Senate staffers claiming it was a GOP document, in the hope — or more likely expectation — that it would then be leaked by those Democrats to reporters.” The Prowler ends with a loose thread hanging between the office of Senator Mel Martinez and the memorandum prepard by the Traditional Values Coalition.
Michelle Malkin asks: “Did the MSM learn nothing from Rathergate?” Answer: Yes. The Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz played a key role in keeping the pressure on CBS to assure that its stonewall was not the last word on the Sixty Minutes II Texas Air National Guard story. Given the involvement of the Washinton Post itself in propagating this particular story, Kurtz is highly unlikely to reprise his Rathergate role. Are there any takers out there among the MSM folks who do this for a living?
