Filling the vacancy

Here’s Michael Moran’s report on the panel discussion on blogging and international news coverage that took place at the Overseas Press Club of America last night. I’d like to thank the Club for inviting me to participate. Special thanks, as well, to the Power Line readers who attended.
I was pleasantly surprised by the near unanimity of the view that blogging is an overwhelmingly positive development when it comes to the reporting of international news. Bloggers and non-bloggers seemed to share the view that, due to financial and bureaucratic forces, the MSM is becoming much less of a force when it comes to reporting international news. Bloggers, nearly everyone agreed, increasingly will fill the gap.
