A durable hatred

Jay Nordlinger is the managing editor of National Review and a columnist for NRO. His Impromptus column is always worth reading. Here is a tidbit from “The beast from the east &c.” (his June 7 column) that has lodged itself in my mind. You might want to recall it the next time you hear a lefty liken the hatred of President Bush to conservative antipathy to President Clinton:
