He got a $50,000 fine, five times what was recommended by government lawyers. Austin Bay has the facts and commentary. Will we ever find out what was going on with Berger’s stealing documents from the National Archives? Does anyone care? Don’t hold your breath waiting for the MSM to get to the bottom of it. They’re happy to accept Berger’s explanation that he stole the documents because it was “convenient” to do so, presumably in comparison to studying the documents at the Archives. Put aside whether this makes any sense. Why does the MSM accept Berger’s explanation of why he destroyed some of the stolen documents, but not others? How exactly was that “convenient” for him?
Oh, wait. Berger hasn’t given any explanation. I guess that must not be an interesting question.
