A Good Organization to Keep an Eye On

We linked to this site a couple of days ago, but I didn’t have time to check it out until today. Let me second Scott’s recommendation: don’t miss Eye on the U.N. The site, which is run by Anne Bayefsky, Gillian Collins and Rebecca Tobin, is a treasure-trove of information about the follies at the U.N. It it well-designed and easy to navigate.
If you want to work up a little anger, check out this tabulation of U.N. actions critical of the human rights policies of member states. Guess which country has been criticized more than any other from 2003 to the present? OK, that was too easy. How about this one: What country has been criticized more often than such bastions of human rights as Myanmar, Indonesia, China, Russia, Haiti, Iran, Egypt, Pakistan, Somalia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Syria, Cuba or–believe it or not–North Korea?
Eye on the U.N. promises to be a valuable resource in the fight to bring sanity to that benighted organization. Or else.
