Brought to you by Total Jihad

The invaluable MEMRI has posted a partial transcript and video of the apparent al Qaeda weekly Internet newscast — “Voice of the Caliphate” — that debuted recently. MEMRI observes that the newscast “celebrates U.S hurricanes and Gaza pullout, reports on Al-Zarqawi’s anti-Shiite campaign and chemical mortar shells in Iraq.”
The Washington Post covers the newscast in a story by Daniel Williams: “Purported al Qaeda newscast debuts on Internet.” The penultimate segment includes video of the launching of five rockets by the Islamic Army followed by a “commercial break,” omitted from the MEMRI clips, before the concluding segment:

A commercial break of sorts followed, which previewed a movie, “Total Jihad,” directed by Mousslim Mouwaheed. The ad was in English, suggesting that the target audience might be Muslims living in Britain and the United States.

The final segment covered Hurricane Katrina:

“The entire Islamic world overflowed with joy when Hurricane Katrina struck in America, which seemed to reel from the strength of the hurricane and went asking for aid from all the countries of the world. Broken and completely humiliated, George Bush, a fool who is being obeyed, announced his obvious incapability to deal with the wrath of Allah that visited the city of homosexuals.”

The manly man bringing the news to the faithful is masked throughout the newscast.
