The Strange Case of Sgt. Massey

Michelle Malkin sums up the scandal surrounding former Marine Sgt. Jimmy Massey, the anti-war poster boy who has now been exposed as a liar. Just as John Kerry returned from Vietnam and falsely accused his comrades of being mass murderers who committed atrocities “on a daily basis,” Massey has fabricated one alleged atrocity after another for a willing MSM audience who, for the most part, passed along his lies uncritically.

Not that it’s stopped with Massey’s exposure. As Michelle relates, most newspapers have no intention of correcting the misinformation they’ve fed their readers, and Massey is racking up book sales with his sensational charges. Not many people seem to care that they’re false. Reporter Ron Harris, who did the research that exposed Massey, says, “[I]t’s been profitable for Jimmy Massey to keep telling this lie.”
