A Friday off

There’s no need for me to attempt to “fisk” E.J.Dionne today. Ed Whelan has already done the deed. Ed’s characterization of Dionne’s piece as “ridiculously distorted” is on target. Notice, for example, how Dionne ridicules Justice Scalia for relying in his dissent on Webster’s dictionary to interpret statutory language (without making it clear that Scalia cited Webster’s for that purpose), and then praises the majority opinion for its “careful look” at that language.
