Half-witted defeatism

Oliver North, who has taken seven trips to Iraq covering U.S. forces, takes apart John Kerry’s latest offering on the subject. Kerry’s “solution” consists of telling Iraqi politicians that they have until May 15 to form an effective unity government or we will immediately withdraw our military. If they form a unity government by then, we should withdraw our combat forces by year’s end. North responds: “Now there’s a real incentive. If you don’t do as we say, we’ll pull out immediately. If you do as we want, we’ll still pull out 225 days later.”

North is not being uncharitable when he refers to Kerry’s defeatist rant as “half-witted.”

SCOTT adds: Don’t miss Martin Peretz’s comment on “John Kerry and Jesus.”
