A note to our Minnesota readers

Sergeant David Thul writes that he is serving with the Minnesota National Guard in Iraq. He asks a simple favor. If you have conservative books or magazines sitting around the house that you’d be willing to part with, he asks that you send them to him for his unit in Iraq. He says that the unit is short of reading material — he read Sean Hannity’s Let Freedom Ring about three months ago and it is still being passed around and read again. He says that books and magazines can be sent directly to the USO or to him:

I sent off a shipment of several books yesterday morning from the downtown Minneapolis station and showed the postal worker Sergeant Thul’s address in the email message, asking if that would get the shipment there. “It’s criminal the way the war is being portrayed,” he said. “My son just returned from two tours in Iraq.” What did he have to say? “He said it was going great, except for the lack of support at home.” I suggest that our Minnesota readers send a good book or magazine to the unit in care of Sergeant Thul to let them know we’re thinking about them and grateful for their service.

UPDATE: Thanks to Janet Beihoffer, Steve Hayward and Royal Dellinger for answering the call — and only Janet is a Minnesotan.
