Chants demagogic

In a column for NRO, University of Virginia Professor Gerard Alexander administers justice to Princeton University Professor Sean Wilentz and his Rolling Stone article on George Bush as the worst president in American history: “Fairly hated.” I love Professor Alexander’s throwaway line on Wilentz’s Rolling Stone article:

Now, I wasn’t expecting footnotes in Rolling Stone, but a scholar doesn’t have to sacrifice analytic integrity just because he’s writing for a non-academic audience. If this is what Wilentz considers a fair-minded treatment of the facts, then writing about the Israel lobby might be more up his alley.
