Dynasty?

English soccer’s regular season ends this weekend. Everton spent much of the season playing like relegation-fodder and the rest playing like Champion’s League contenders. Thus, it’s fitting that, with one match to play, Everton is on the border line of the top half of the table. A win at home against relegated West Brom and a Wigan loss at Arsenal would give us the 10th spot. This outcome may depend on today’s match between Arsenal and Manchester City. An Arsenal victory would keep them in contention for a guaranteed spot in next year’s Champion’s League. A loss would leave them with no incentive to defeat Wigan.

If Everton does make the top 10 it will be second consecutive year, and the third in the last four. For Evertonians these days that’s a dynasty.
